Official Notification: Updates to ISTQB® Advanced Level Syllabi

The Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB), as the national member board of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®), hereby announces official updates to two of the Advanced Level syllabi.

These updates are essential for all software testing professionals, certified testers, and training providers in Malaysia to ensure alignment with the latest global standards and practices in the software testing industry.

1. Update to Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Management (CTAL-TM)

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Manager version 2012 syllabus has been updated.

• Previous Version: ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Manager version 2012
• New Version: ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Management (CTAL-TM) v3.0

All candidates and training providers for this certification are advised to now refer to the new CTAL-TM syllabus for all future training and examinations.

2. Update to Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer (CTAL-TAE)

The Certified Tester – Test Automation Engineer version 2016 syllabus has been updated.

• Previous Version: Certified Tester – Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE) version 2016
• New Version: ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer v2.0 (CTAL-TAE v2.0)

This revised syllabus incorporates current and emerging practices within the field of test automation.

MSTB advises the national software testing community to familiarize themselves with these new versions to maintain the integrity and relevance of their professional qualifications.
