On 29 October 2026 the TMMi Foundation certified the test practices of FIT Pioneer Resources Sdn Bhd’s Total Quality Assurance unit at TMMi Level 3, the Defined level of the Test Maturity Model Integration framework. The certificate records that the accredited assessment behind it was completed by the Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB).
The assessment was led by Adrian Howes, Managing Consultant and TMMi Lead Assessor at Experimentus Ltd, using MSTB’s TMMi Assessment Method. Mr Howes credits Halizawati Mohd Halid, one of MSTB’s accredited assessors, with “an amazing amount of work” on it. By his account, it is only the second formal assessment carried out under TMMi version 2.0, the newest release of the model.
That formality matters. A formal TMMi assessment is led by an accredited lead assessor, uses an assessment method the TMMi Foundation has accredited, and has its result recorded with the Foundation. That is what lets anyone outside the company, a client or a partner, rely on the level.
The result came in two steps. On 22 October the assessment team reported that the unit had been assessed as having achieved Level 3. On 29 October the TMMi Foundation issued the formal certificate.
TMMi rates how mature an organisation’s testing is, on a scale of five levels. At Level 3, testing stops being something each project works out for itself. It becomes a defined process across the organisation: planned, staffed by trained people, built into the development lifecycle and reviewed. Getting there takes sustained effort from the whole organisation, not only its testers.
The certificate is scoped to the Total Quality Assurance unit rather than the whole company, and it is valid until 31 October 2029.
Congratulations to everyone at FIT Pioneer who made it happen, and thanks to Adrian Howes and Halizawati for the work behind the assessment.
